There is no fee for BoVi submissions.
You do not need to be present at BoVi 2016 to win.
Video submission dates and times are from 12:00 am June 1 through August 1, 2016 11:59 pm.
Submissions are accepted from national and international students.
BoVi 2016 will be held Thursday, October 13 and Friday, October 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm each day at Boise State University's Special Events Center in Boise, Idaho.
Entries are divided into three categories for awards consideration:
Novice Division: Kindergarten through Eighth grade (K-8); entrants must have been a major participant in the video (director, cinematographer, actor, or editor), and up to four students per film may enter.
Junior Division: Ninth through Twelfth Grades (9–12), entrants must have participated as Director; and
Senior Division: College/Graduate, entrant must have participated as Director. A student who graduated in Fall 2015/ Spring 2016 may submit a graduation/thesis film.
BoVi (Boise Student International Video Festival) is not a registered 501C3 non-profit, but is an event managed by media production students attending Boise State University.
BoVi is in no way affiliated with any other film festivals past or present at Boise State University.
Films must be 20 minutes or under in length; minimum length one minute, including credits.
Video Categories for Submission and Awards:
At its discretion, BoVi reserves the right to change the category of a video, if it is more appropriate in a different category in which it was submitted.
Awards for the best video in each of the above categories will be presented, in addition to Best of Show. There will not be monetary awards for winners.
Student will be notified via email if work has been accepted to screen at BoVi 2016.
Films will be judged on the following criteria: cinematography, editing, sound, originality, acting, and creativity.
